135228Photo #135228A dual carriageway comes from Livingston to Dobbies roundabout, the cars are going way too fast on to the roundabout and not looking for cycles at all. I had another near death miss this morning, I had gone around the roundabout from A89 Broxburn towards the A89 Bathgate as the cycle path stops and crosses multiple roads then goes through a housing estate. So normally the roundabout is a safer ish option. Can a crossing point with lights be put on this roundabout. ?Cycleway:

133382Photo #133382This is a very important commuters route into Edinburgh. The road is plenty wide enough but cars still pass too close. Dedicated cycle lanes all the way to Kirkliston would improve safety.Cycleway:

133376Photo #133376There is plenty of room here to create a safe cycle lane which provides access for Springfield estate and Blackness. It can be a scary bit of road due to the speed of cars as the 40moh is not enforcedCycleway:

130580Photo #130580East Whitburn to Blacburn. Vehicles passing very close, especially due to bollards in middle of road which reduce the width of road available. Could pavement be widened to allow for pedestrians and cyclists. Or a physical barrier on road or a different colour tarmac. The white marking to indicate cycle lane is useless. It stops just where it is needed where there is furniture in the middle of the road, the road surface on the left of the road is largely appalling and dangeruus, and motorists completely ignore the white lines in any case.Cycleway:

130314Photo #130314You have to cross multiple busy roads to get from one point on the cycle path on the A89 to rejoin the cycle path again outside Dobbies.
Extend the cycle lane down the south side of the road and build a bridge over the A899. Or make a pelican crossing next to the roundabout,, this roundabout is already lethal for cycling on.

Removal of these would free up space for on road cycle lane or shared use path on the north side. There may be opposition as the traffic island are likely to be considered as crossing places.Road environment:
