This is a very important commuters route into Edinburgh. The road is plenty wide enough but cars still pass too close. Dedicated cycle lanes all the way to Kirkliston would improve safety.
There is plenty of room here to create a safe cycle lane which provides access for Springfield estate and Blackness. It can be a scary bit of road due to the speed of cars as the 40moh is not enforced

Coming into Bathgate from the west, NCN75 crosses the railway line, but the ramp up to the bridge faces east, entailing path-users doubling back. There are no double-backs on the adjacent railway line!

The pedestrian crossing where users of the A89 cyclepath must cross side road (see #37338). Despite the End of Route sign, the route continues to Newbridge across the other side of the pedestrian crossing.
